#Mailcall Adding to my Larry Fuller collection unt #Mailcall Adding to my Larry Fuller collection until I can afford an Ebon No 1. This is The Funny Book No 1 (1975) published by Fulhorne Publishing (Larry Fuller and Raye Horne.) It reminds me of old school Mad and Cracked magazines.

Also, I finally got a first printing of White Whxre Funnies (1975).

Larry Fuller published Ebon, the first self titled Black Superhero comic in 1970. However most folks don’t know he built his career creating adult comics. He’s also known for publishing the first Gay Comic “Gay Heart Throbs”. The first issue of which is EXTREMELY rare. #larryfuller #wileyspade #undergroundcomix #blackhistorymonth❤️🖤💚

MFK by Nilah Macgruder (first Black woman to write for Marvel in 2016, winner of the FIRST Dwayne McDuffie Award in 2015)

Teen Titans issue 75 x Felicia Henderson (the first Black Woman to write comics for DC in 2009)

Illustrator Alitha Martinez got her big break in comics in 1999 as a penciler on Cable ’99 Annual (1999). This may make her the first woman of color to work for Marvel as an artist.

Joan Baccus (Maynard), the author of Golden Legacy #2 (Fitzgerald Publishing, 1966) and several other volumes of the series. First Black woman of record to work in comics as a writer.

Happy Birthday, Dr. King! 🎂 This #MLKDay, we’re di Happy Birthday, Dr. King! 🎂 This #MLKDay, we’re diving into the 1957 comic book that turned his philosophy into a tactical manual for revolution. ✊🏾

Before he was a global icon, he was a comic book hero—literally. Read about The Montgomery Story and its impact on the Civil Rights Movement.

Ben Passmore’s @daygloayhole Black Arms to Hold Yo Ben Passmore’s @daygloayhole Black Arms to Hold You Up is a visceral call to arms that demands you wrestle with the weight of history. ⛓️💥

It’s a surreal, kinetic journey that turns weapons into symbols for justice—intellectual, political, and physical. A masterclass in “self-defense of the mind.”
