“The accomplished creative team, who previously brought us Parable of the Sower, has once again found remarkable ways to amplify the dread and hope that form the bedrock of Butler’s storytelling.”
Warning! Underground Comix on display today! Look Warning! Underground Comix on display today! Look away Prowler!

White Whxre Funnies by Black underground legends Larry Fuller (Ebon) and Raye Horne (aka Wiley Spade). Published independently by Ful-Horne Publishing in 1975.

Larry Fuller published Ebon, the first self titled Black Superhero comic in 1970. However most folks don’t know he built his career creating adult comics. He’s also known for publishing the first Gay Comic “Gay Heart Throbs”.

Now here’s the bad news. My copy is a SECOND PRINTING!! Arrrgg! I totally missed this but as you can see my copy was published by Yentzler and Goniff in 1987. The original first printing should have the FH Ful-Horne logo in the top left corner. And a date of ‘75. Buyer beware. #undergroundcomix #larryfuller #rayehorne #wileyspade #historicallyblackcomics

Such an amazing mailcall! Gratuitous Ninja x Ronal Such an amazing mailcall! Gratuitous Ninja x Ronald Wimberly (@beehivebooks , 2023). This 5 x 5 x 8 inch box includes trading cards, a NY subway map (with secret Ninja routes) and 12 accordion style comics which
are print versions of the 12 @webtoonofficial episodes of Gratuitous Ninja.

This is by far the coolest thing in my personal collection/archive of Black comics. Fans of Afro Samurai, Boondocks and Black Dynamite will love this!
Juni Ba’s Monkey Meat: Summer Batch @juni.ba (@i Juni Ba’s Monkey Meat: Summer Batch @juni.ba (@imagecomics March 2025) presents a unique challenge for comic critics. Traditional reviews assess how well a work meets genre expectations, but Monkey Meat defies easy categorization. Therefore, my review isn’t a critique in the conventional sense, but a guide to the strange and wonderful fantasy island Ba has created.
